Building Supplies for great deals

The first and easiest way we saved money was on craig’s list . If you have never checked it out then definitely take a look around at all it has to offer. It has different cities and is like a huge virtual garage sale. We have been able to find shingles, tar paper, carpet, outdoor pavers and much more for fractions of the cost of retail from people that have bought too much or worked in the construction industry and had it left over. All of our building supplies we have bought from craig’s list has been new, but they do have used stuff that can be reused. We, also, use craig’s list to make money from our construction or give it away for free to a new home. By doing this we are getting money to go towards our project and saving money by not having to get a dumpster for an extended period of time. An extra bonus to this form of shopping is it is keeping perfectly good items out of our landfills therefore saving the world. There’s an abundance of products out the being formed everyday that are green products, but it is creating more waste as people remove their old stuff so reusing or giving to a new home can really save with the waste. My husband really hates to waste things…it’s kind of like a challenge to him to reuse everything he takes of the house. He removed a chimney that ran through the middle of our house but we did not have a fireplace (it was from when the house was built and used to heat the house) so he reused the bricks to build a massive smoker and grill in our back yard. So when you remove something from your house challenge yourself to reuse it or see if there is someone that might want it instead of throwing it away.
